ARTIST’S Bio

Christine Long

I was born in Ottawa, Ontario. But I moved many times throughout my life both as a child and as an adult both in Canada and overseas. Fortunately, I had great parents who exposed me to whatever arts and cultures were around us at the time. My early exposures to galleries, museums, and people from other cultures informed my studies and art later in life.

I developed a passion for archaeology early on and did my undergraduate degree in Canada. I then enjoyed the University of London in the UK for my post graduate work.

My employment history has been equally varied. I have worked in universities, a museum and taught English as a second language.  I have worked as a market researcher to establish a science centre and spent a decade in the finance sector.  I then became Executive Director for a not-for-profit agency helping families cope with parenting issues and women’s mental health.

Then in 2004 I became very ill with MS. It was a forced immediate retirement and the beginning of a long journey to rewire my brain and body.

That’s how the painting started leading us up to today…so welcome to my website! I hope you enjoy it and see something you like.

Blessings
